Laboratory

When a surgeon needs test results in the middle of an operation, LRH's highly regarded lab is ready to respond. As a surgeon operates on a patient in one of Lake Region Hospital's surgical suites, he's surrounded by a team of nurses and other specialists. Another part of the team is two floors away,carefully preparing a tissue sample from the patient for immediate analysis.

Though it is a role seldom visible to the public, the LRH lab specialists routinely analyze tissue and blood samples providing physicians with the information they need to diagnose and treat disease and injuries.

The laboratory is equipped with instrumentation allowing for almost any test the physician orders, meaning that patients get the benefit of consistent on-site testing in a laboratory that is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. Patients also have the advantage of the LRH lab being a distribution center for the American Red Cross.

The laboratory reaches out to the community with a well-water analysis program and also provides laboratory services to many of the surrounding health care centers.
