The Birthing Suite
The sounds are muffled. Nurses and doctors talk quietly. But one sound is unmistakable. It is the sound of a newborn child in Lake Region Hospital's Birthing Suite where the staff provides every patient with care that makes them feel special.
Personal attention is what sets the Birthing Suite apart. The rooms don't look like
traditional hospital rooms. They're decorated like a home - decorative wallpaper, soothing colors, soft chairs. The atmosphere is warm and
comfortable, and the patients get personal attention and the benefit of current
technology, including electronic fetal monitors, radiant warmers and oximeters.
Staff training is ongoing. All of the nurses have special training in neonatal care and are certified in neonatal resuscitation and ongoing classes are attended for advanced fetal monitoring. There is a certified lactation consultant on staff and several nurses have been certified as childbirth educators.
The entire team in The Birthing Suite, whether nurses or obstetrician/gynecologists, pediatricians or family physicians, all work toward a single goal — to specialize in the patient and the child.
