Perhaps no place at Lake Region Hospital has technology moved faster than in the Radiology Department, where recent years have brought advances in the staff's ability to "see" inside the human body.

An example of the latest in medical technology available at Lake Region Hospital is the powerful Philips magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) located in a new addition to the hospital. The MRI produces clear, three-dimensional images of areas of the body such as the brain, extremities, and the spinal cord.

The department also features the latest in ultrasound equipment which provides superior image quality and the ability to store images digitally. The sonographers are well trained to perform many different types of ultrasounds.

Even with technology's growing role in diagnosing health problems, the Radiology Department retains a focus on individuals, working as a team with the patient and the patient's physician to be sure that each examination is of the highest quality.
