Checking In

Our goal is to provide you with high-quality health care. To acquaint you with our services and policies, we have prepared this guide.

If at any time you have questions or concerns regarding your care or other aspects of your stay, please feel free to contact us.

Whether checking in to have a medical procedure or stopping by to visit a loved one or friend, we have a convenient volunteer and information desk located immediately as you come into the main doors of the hospital. Once there, we will work to make your check-in or visit as smooth as possible.

Admissions personnel ask a number of questions necessary for your medical care. This information is held in strict confidence.

To facilitate proper identification, your first initial and last name may be listed outside your room. Please let our staff know if you prefer otherwise.

Health insurance information is important so that we may assist you in filing the appropriate insurance claims. During admission, you are asked to provide your insurance card for photocopying. This gives us a record of your insurance company name, address and policy number. If you did not bring this information with you, please arrange to provide it to the business office within 24 hours. You will also be asked to sign insurance and billing authorizations that will help us bill your insurance carrier for your medical treatment.

A reminder to new parents: You will need to add your baby to your insurance policy. Some insurance companies have time limits. If you have no insurance, please contact your local social service office immediately.

Personal possessions you may wish to have for your hospital stay: your own pajamas or nightgown, robe, slippers and personal cosmetic and care items (such as toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, facial tissue, etc.). Personal care items are available, for a fee, if you do not provide your own.

Maternity patients will need to bring baby clothes for the baby’s trip home. We recommend that you do not keep any valuables with you. We will only be responsible for valuables if they are checked in at switchboard/admitting for safekeeping.

Smoking is not permitted in the facility.
