Radiology / Interventional Radiology
From simple fractures to complex diagnostic procedures, radiology at Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) provides comprehensive services. LRH’s Radiology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology services. One department—in one central location—provides these services. This means if you require multiple tests, you have the convenience of one stop for all your imaging needs.
Interventional Radiology Suite
This state-of-the-art suite provides the most advanced digital fluoroscopy equipment to image veins, arteries and ducts in order to diagnose and treat conditions ranging from peripheral vascular disease to aortic aneurysms. Using imaging guidance, interventional radiologists guide small instruments through blood vessels to treat disease. These minimally invasive procedures provide targeted treatments and reduce the need for open surgical procedures.
Common interventional radiology procedures include balloon angioplasty, needle biopsy and stenting to keep arteries, veins and ducts open. These procedures can unblock clogged arteries, test for cancer and provide drainage in areas where there is an obstruction. A recent breakthrough in interventional radiology—chemoembolization—uses a catheter to deliver cancer-fighting agents directly to the site of a tumor.
The expansion and enhancements were designed with the patient in mind, as well as improving the continuity of care. In addition, the Radiology Department offers diagnostic x-ray, mammograms, ultrasounds, computed tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs).
