Lake Region Healthcare’s (LRH) Barnesville Area Clinic is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Sunnah Doesken and Katie Martin, Family Nurse Practitioner to their staff of primary care providers.
Dr. Doesken received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Duluth and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Siouxland Medical Education Foundation in Sioux City, IA. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry & Biology from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
She has served as an Emergency Room provider at Unity Point Health St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center and as an adjunct professor/faculty physician at Siouxland Medical Education Foundation, both in Sioux City, IA. Most recently she worked for the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center in Macy, NE.
Dr. Doesken is Board Certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. She has a particular interest in women’s health and delivering babies.
Originally from McGregor, MN she said is looking forward to joining the Barnesville Area Clinic team and the Barnesville Community because it will give her the opportunity to serve all ages and particularly young parents and children where health can be influenced in a preventative nature. In her spare time she enjoys raising chickens and fainting goats, exploring the outdoors and creating art projects with her daughter.
Martin received her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of North Dakota and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Minot State University. She has served as a staff nurse for Hospice of the Red River Valley, a Stroke Program Educator for Essentia Health and as a Medical/Surgical Nurse for Essentia Health. She has a particular interest in women’s health & geriatrics.
Originally from Wahpeton, she is looking forward to joining the Barnesville Area Clinic team and the Barnesville Community because of the small-town atmosphere and the ability to care for families and patients of all ages. In her spare time she enjoys being with her husband and kids and spending time outdoors.
