Diabetes Education and Dietitian Services Now Offered in Barnesville
[Fergus Falls, MN] Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to announce the expansion of services offered at its Barnesville Area Clinic to include Diabetes Education and Dietitian Services such as continuous glucose monitoring, medical nutrition therapy and intensive behavioral therapy for obesity.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, about 9% of Minnesotan’s have been diagnosed with diabetes, but around 1 in 10 people with diabetes do not know that they have the disease. Providing diabetes education and management, along with nutrition therapy, are key services to help improve life for people with diabetes and to help prevent type two diabetes from developing in those who are at higher risk due to obesity.
LRH Diabetes Educators have been successful in helping patients lower their a1c an average of 2.2% through their evidence based programming and professional support. The new services at the Barnesville Area Clinic will begin on May 23rd and will be offered by a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist.
