LRH Announces Change to Mask Policy

[Fergus Falls, MN] Lake Region Healthcare and Prairie Ridge Healthcare have changed their masking policy as of June 1st. Masks are now optional for visitors and patients as long as they do not have a fever, respiratory symptoms such as a cough, or had a high-risk exposure to someone with COVID-19. The Cancer Center is an exception to this policy change as masks will continue to be required for staff, visitors, and patients at that location.

The policy change follows several months of low numbers for COVID hospitalizations and cases, strong availability of vaccine supply, and generally lesser severity of illness.

People will be screened at check-in. Anyone with symptoms or a positive diagnosis or high-risk exposure will be required to wear a mask.

Healthcare workers will continue to wear masks when caring for patients or providing any treatments.
