Cancer Center Demonstrates Commitment to Best Possible Standard of Care for Patients
(FERGUS FALLS, Minn.) – The American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) Accreditation Program recently announced Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) Cancer Center and Research Center has been granted full accreditation after a formal application and on-site peer survey.
ACRO’s mission is to strive to ensure the highest quality care for radiation therapy patients and promote success in the practice of radiation oncology through education, responsible socioeconomic advocacy, and integration of science and technology into clinical practice. LRH is the only cancer center currently ACRO accredited in Minnesota. The ACRO Accreditation process reviews facilities, staffing, policies and treatment programs to confirm that accepted standards of current radiation therapy delivered in the United States are met. The review will focuses on Equipment, Staff, Case review, Site Visit, Accreditation and Fees.
Based on the review components, the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiation Oncology awarded the LRH Cancer Center Full Accreditation status.
“This recognition is a reflection of the unwavering commitment our staff has to caring for our patients with the highest level of clinical quality and compassion possible,” said Cancer Center Director, Jamie Nordick. “I’m not at all surprised by the ACRO decision because we really have the best team I can imagine. Together with the QOPI (Quality Oncology Practice Initiative) Certification we also recently achieved, this validates we are meeting high standards and fosters our culture of excellence for our patients and their families,” she said. Nordick added that the cancer center is one of seven in the state of Minnesota and the only non-metro facility in Minnesota to achieve the QOPI certification.
