(FERGUS FALLS, Minn.) Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to announce three additions to their growing staff of medical providers this fall. Dr. Kunal Kaushik has joined the Pediatric department, Dr. Andre Genereux joins the Primary Care and Hospitalist teams in Internal Medicine and Dr. Chris Lindgren is new to the Emergency Department.
Dr. Kaushikreceived his medical degree from the Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi in New Delhi, India. He trained in Pediatrics and earned his Diploma in Child Health from University of Delhi before moving to the US. His Pediatric residency was completed at The Brooklyn Hospital Center which is affiliated with Mt. Sinai Hospital and Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He also served as Chief Resident during his residency.
He was involved in various Quality Improvement and Research projects during residency and participated in the Safe Sleep project at The Brooklyn Hospital which aimed to prevent SIDS by encouraging and educating staff and patients on safe sleep practices.
When asked about choosing to join the team at LRH Kaushik said, “I love the vision of the team at LRH and their commitment to patient-centered care. Add to that the charm of this town and making the decision to join the Lake Region Healthcare team was quite easy.”
Dr Kaushik's areas of professional interest include preventive medicine and care of newborns and infants. His personal interests include reading, traveling, hiking, cooking and listening to music.
Dr. Genereux received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks, ND. He completed his residency at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN and holds undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Concordia College in Moorhead. He also holds a certification in Internal Medicine Point of Care Ultrasonography.
Dr. Genereuxis originally from Wahpeton, ND and is looking forward to practicing medicine close to home. “I chose LRH because I was looking to serve a rural community. LRH is a solid healthcare system full of great people and a wholesome patient population. Fergus Falls is also located in an area that my wife and I enjoy spending our free time in,” he said.
His professional interests are in the areas of quality care, clinical education and bedside ultrasound. He is married to Brittany and in his spare time he enjoys tennis, hockey and home improvement projects.
Dr. Lindgren received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and completed his Emergency Medicine Residence at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Most recently he has served at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE. He has also worked at Essentia Health in Brainerd and in the Altru Health System in Grand Forks in addition to paramedic experience in Fargo, Norman County and Kansas City.
Dr. Lindgren is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
When asked about choosing to join the team at LRH Lindgren said, “I could readily see that the staff & employees at LRHC enjoy a local independence that fosters a collegial atmosphere in which to provide exceptional patient care.”
His areas of professional interest include EMS/pre-hospital care, participating in education of medical residents and other students, and providing comfort and understanding to patients and families during very difficult times in their lives in the emergency department.
His personal interests include spending time with my family, running, biking, camping, working out, and watching some BIG 10 football (namely, the Huskers).
