Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to welcome Keon Griffie, NP to our Orthopedics & Sports Medicine department at our main clinic in Fergus Falls.
Griffie received his Masters of Science Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Walden University in 2017 and his Registered Nursing Degree from Texarkana College in 2011.
He began his nursing career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in 2006 working in surgery as a scrub nurse. He later began working in the Emergency Room and returned to school to achieve his RN degree. After graduating he worked as a nurse in the ER, OR, PACU and GI lab. He served as the clinical director of the Texarkana Surgery Center before returning to school again for his Family Nurse Practitioner studies.
Keon is certified in Basic, Advanced and Pediatric Life Support through the American Heart Association and has extensive experience in clinical setting providing nursing care to diverse populations that is patient and family focused.
When asked about choosing to join the team at LRH Griffie said, “I felt so comfortable with the team when I visited here and just felt like this would be a great place to join. We really like the area and hope to make this our home for a very long time.”
His areas of professional interest include orthopedic traumas and total joint replacements.His personal interests include fishing and he is particularly excited about the many lakes he and his boys will have the opportunity to fish in the area.
