Biography
Dr. Timothy Mahoney has served on our medical staff in the General Surgery Department as a general and vascular surgeon since 2015.
Mahoney received his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Tufts University. He also attended the University of North Dakota Medical School where he was a classmate of LRH Pediatrician, Dr. Allen Magnuson. In 2005, Mahoney received a master's degree in health care management from Harvard University.
Mahoney has been a surgeon in Fargo, North Dakota since 1980 after he completed his Surgical Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons.
He enjoys being part of the LRH surgical team that is able to address a broad range of surgical needs that allows patients to have procedures ranging from routine to complex right here, close to home. “I am particularly interested in bringing to LRH patients my surgical skill sets for laparoscopic reflux surgery, minimal thyroid surgery, and vascular surgery with special interest in diabetic foot issues.”
Mahoney has regular clinic hours at the Fergus Falls Main Clinic and the Barnesville Area Clinic and a regular surgical schedule in the LRH operating rooms.
He is married to Kathy Mahoney, registered nurse. The couple has four children: Ryan, Kaileen, Colin and Dylan.
