Birth Center
Be a confident mom-to-be.
Find care and deliver your baby close to home
Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most personal and remembered events a mother experiences. We consider it a great honor to care for you and your baby before, during and after your delivery.
Team of Support
When you choose the Lake Region Healthcare birth center to see you through pregnancy and birth, you’ll be cared for by a team of highly trained obstetricians, gynecologists, registered nurses and certified nurse anesthesiologists who are calm and soothing—and who will personalize your care based on your needs and choices. Our pediatricians are at the ready to provide immediate care for your newborn as well.
Free Pregnancy and Childbirth Classes
We offer a variety of free classes for expectant mothers and their partner or coach to learn about pregnancy, labor, delivery, care of newborns, and care of self after delivery. The full day course covers signs of labor, symptoms of pre-term labor, cesarean birth, hospital policies and routines, relaxation, breathing and coping strategies, pain control and anesthesia options and more. A refresher course is also available, along with courses to help siblings prepare for the new family arrival.
See the schedule of free pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and sibling classes offered at Lake Region Healthcare here.
Special Nurses
All of the nurses in our birth center have special training in neonatal care, are certified in neonatal resuscitation and attend ongoing training for advanced fetal monitoring. You will find a lactation educator on staff as well as nurses certified as childbirth educators.
Special Level II Nursery
The nursery at Lake Region Healthcare is a Level II Nursery that provides extra care and expertise for babies who experience difficulty adjusting to birth.
Technology
Because each birth experience is special and unique, it is our goal to provide a medically safe environment in an atmosphere that will leave you with warm memories forever. The latest technology is available in our birth center, including state-of-the-art centralized monitoring in each Birthing Suite to ensure you and baby are well throughout the labor process.
A Birth Center with Comfortable Birthing Suites
Besides the personal attention you will receive from us throughout your entire experience, you will be able to enjoy the special comforts of our Birthing Suites. Our four labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites allow you to stay in one room throughout labor, delivery and your stay with us. The birth center atmosphere is warm, with calm colors on the wall, soft chairs for your partner or family—and a whirlpool.
To welcome your baby into the world, a Happy Birthday song is played throughout the hospital to announce the arrival of the new addition to your family.
*Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) met overall quality measures, developed with input from the medical community. A Local Blue Plan may require additional criteria for providers located in its own service area; for details, contact your Local Blue Plan. Blue Distinction Centers+ (BOC+) also met cost measures that address consumers' need for affordable healthcare. Each provider's cost of care is evaluated using data from its Local Blue Plan. Providers in CA, ID, NY, PA, and WA may lie in two Local Blue Plans' areas, resulting in two evaluations for cost of care; and their own Local Blue Plans decide whether one or both cost of care evaluation(s) must meet BOC+ national criteria. National criteria for BOC and BOC+ are displayed on www.bcbs.com. Individual outcomes may vary. For details on a provider's in-network status or your own policy's coverage, contact your Local Blue Plan and ask your provider before making an appointment. Neither Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association nor any Blue Plans are responsible for non-covered charges or other losses or damages resulting from Blue Distinction or other provider finder information or care received from Blue Distinction or other providers.
